Frequently Asked Questions
- How do we tile the Floor4MA® tray?
- On square trays a diamond pattern is always preferred, as this takes a natural grout joint from the waste grill to the corners of the tray. On rectangular trays tiles can be laid square to the tray but must have a cut in the tile from the corner of the waste grill to the corners of the tray to accommodate the built in slope.
- Can a 900 x 900 Top4MA® or a 900x 800 Top4MA® be cut down smaller?
- No because the metal under tray is the same size as these two top trays. But all other sizes can be cut down (see Specification for details)
- How do I fix the floor panels to the tray?
- Cut the tongue off one side (15mm & 19mm Panels only) with a trim knife and solvent weld the square edge to the tray. The same method is used for fixing the wall panels to the tray.
- Can I use 10mm panels for the stud walls?
- No, the 10mm panels are too flexible for standard stud walls @ 400mm centre's. Only if additional studs @ 200mm centre's were installed could 10mm be used.
- If the floor is out of level can I still install the Floor4MA®?
- No! The floor needs to be level. Although a tolerance of 5mm per metre is acceptable. Then tiles need to be bedded up to compensate for this. Anything more than 5mm per metre the floor would need to be levelled.
- Can I use any thickness of tiles on the tray?
- Yes! The waste grill collar stands up 7mm but waste height adjuster pieces allow for thicker tiles in increments of 3mm to any thickness.
- Are there any minimum requirements for waterproofing a wet room?
- We recommend covering all the floor area and the entire walls floor to ceiling in the showering area, with a 150mm skirting fitted flush with the plasterwork on the remaining walls. All joints must be solvent welded.
- What do I do if the waste lands on a joist or pipe work under the floor?
- Position the tray away from the wall to avoid these, then extension pieces can be used to infill between the walls and tray. If this is not possible the joist would need to be trimmed out properly, (ensuring that current building regulations are adhered to) or pipe work would have to be re-routed.
- How do I know how many solvent cartridges I need to install the wet room.
- One cartridge of solvent will be enough to install 3 wall/floor panels.
